Why the SIM

The Smartest Way
to Build Hours.

The AirNoss SIM puts you inside an exact replica of a Cirrus cockpit — full Perspective Touch+ G7 glass panel, realistic flight dynamics, and real-world weather scenarios — at a fraction of the cost of flying the actual aircraft.

Whether you're working on your IFR rating, staying current, or transitioning to a new Cirrus model, SIM time accelerates your training in ways that ground school alone simply can't.

FAA Loggable
Every session counts. Log up to 10 hours toward your Instrument Rating, 2.5h toward PPL, and more.
Cost Effective
Practice complex procedures and emergencies at a fraction of the hourly cost of flying the actual aircraft.
Emergency Ready
Practice engine failures, system malfunctions, and CAPS deployment scenarios safely on the ground.
Cirrus-Specific
Exact replication of SR20, SR22, and SR22T avionics. Train on the exact panel you'll fly in the air.
Real Weather
Fly in simulated IMC, turbulence, icing, and low-visibility conditions — conditions you can't safely practice in real life.
Recurrent Ready
Perfect for annual recurrent training and IFR currency without scheduling around OKC weather.

How Many Hours
Can I Log?

As an FAA-approved AATD, AirNoss SIM time counts toward multiple certifications and ratings — here's exactly how.

2.5h
Private Pilot
Up to 2.5 hours of AATD time may be credited toward the 40-hour minimum for your Private Pilot Certificate.
FAR 61.109(k)
10h
Instrument Rating
Up to 10 hours of the required 40 hours of instrument time may be completed in the AirNoss AATD — significant savings.
FAR 61.65(i)
50h
Commercial Pilot
Up to 50 hours of the required training time for your Commercial Certificate may be logged in an FAA-approved AATD.
FAR 61.129
Currency & IPC
No limits. Complete IFR currency (6 approaches, holds, tracking), full IPCs, and recurrent training — all in the sim.
FAR 61.57(c)(3) & 61.57(d)
What You'll Practice

Every Scenario.
No Risk.

CAPS Deployment
Practice the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System activation procedures in a controlled environment.
Instrument Approaches
ILS, RNAV, VOR, and LOC approaches — shoot them repeatedly until they're second nature.
Engine Failures
Partial and full power loss at various altitudes and phases of flight — handled safely on the ground.
IMC & Icing
Fly in simulated instrument meteorological conditions, turbulence, and known icing environments.
Holds & Procedures
Master holding patterns, missed approaches, and departure procedures until they're automatic.
Systems Failures
Electrical, vacuum, and avionics failures — train the correct responses before you need them for real.
Transition Training
New to Cirrus? Get thoroughly familiar with SR20, SR22, and SR22T systems before your first flight.
Unusual Attitudes
Upset recovery training and unusual attitude recognition — skills that make you a safer pilot every flight.

What exactly is an AATD?
An AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device) is an FAA-approved flight simulator that replicates real aircraft systems, controls, and avionics. The AirNoss SIM mirrors the Cirrus cockpit — including the Perspective Touch+ G7 glass panel — allowing you to log FAA-creditable flight time toward your certificates and ratings.
How many hours can I log toward my ratings?
Up to 2.5 hours may count toward your Private Pilot Certificate (FAR 61.109), and up to 10 hours toward your Instrument Rating (FAR 61.65). There is no limit on SIM time used for recurrent training and IFR currency under FAR 61.57.
Which Cirrus models does the SIM replicate?
The AirNoss SIM supports SR20, SR22, and SR22T configurations, making it ideal for initial training, transition training, and recurrent proficiency checks for all three models.
Do I need to be an AirNoss student to join?
No — the SIM membership is open to any pilot or student who wants to train in a Cirrus-specific AATD. Whether you fly with us or elsewhere, the SIM is available to you. Sessions are instructor-guided by our Cirrus-certified team.
How do I schedule a session?
Submit the membership application and an AirNoss instructor will contact you within one business day to discuss your training goals and schedule your first session. Sessions run 7 days a week at KGOK.
Where is the SIM located?
The AirNoss SIM is located at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport (KGOK), 520 Airport Rd, Hangar 2, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044 — just north of the OKC metro, conveniently between Edmond and Guthrie.
